This is

Ive been silently building @nowe and while its still slightly short of my vision, its now ready to share with you all. I hope it inspires you to create, as its purpose is to empower creators and redefine the value of social media. Lets dive in ?? slip into the comments or DM me direct @messages/jonny to chat

- What is NOWE?
A social marketplace, publishing & e-commerce platform with a focus on art.

- What can you currently do?
Create, discover, sell & collect tangible & digital art. Resell/curate art collections without owning or buying anything! Split sales with users and charities. Publish, explore & share articles. Connect. Build communities. And more

- What else can you currently do (in private Beta)?
Publish and manage websites. Develop themes and sell in the theme store. Build sub-marketplaces and communities with custom domains.

- What can you soon do?
Mint and collect NFTs. Transact in crypto currencys. Publish books. Donate to more verified charities. Crowd fund. What else would you like to do? (I want to know)

- What do we have in development?
Art Books. Exhibitions. NFT collections. A native crypto token. Partnerships.

- How can you benefit from using @nowe now?
Aside from being involved in an emerging culture and creative community, early adopters will be rewarded with crypto assets through airdrops. The more use, the bigger the reward. Artists can be featured in our books. Secure your preferred username.

- Whats the cost?
Free to use and create, just 5% on sale transactions. Broken down: the bank takes 3% (like any merchant facility), so we only keep 2%. Did you know Meta (formerly Facebook) takes up to 47.5% of artist/creators sales in their Metaverse applications? Get f#cked FB

- Why isnt it 100% Blockchain focused?
Theres lots of reasons why, the main reasons:
1) each transaction on the Ethereum chain costs in gas (on average anywhere from $30-300 USD, and recently up to $3500+ at peak hour). That means to create a listing, edit a listing, bid on a listing, buy a listing, delete a listing etc each of these simple actions would cost said gas! Why force that upon users when we can manage this functionality on an application level, adding more robust UIX and codebase without the costly overheads.
2) Blockchain exploits. The larger the smart contract codebase, the more opportunities for hackers to exploit possible vulnerabilities. Weve all seen it happen in the space. The open protocol makes scammers jobs breezy, and theyre richer than ever.
3) The controversial environmental impact

- So is there any blockchain focus?
Absolutely! For the users that want it, and only for the actions that need it. I.e. minting, paying, and transferring assets. Keeping smart contracts to a minimal, on-chain friction low and energy consumption down. We have plans and different use cases for NFTs and smart contracts, stay tuned.

- Who can use it?
Anyone. It currently transacts in AUD and so withdrawing to an Australian bank account is free, however international bank accounts can be used with a flat international transfer rate of $10 (which is the current bank fee, we dont take any of that).

Id be honoured for you to check it out and get involved. Any feedback & feature requests please send me a DM directly @messages/jonny as I will prioritise and action them immediately. At this point in time Im the only developer (theres no team to go through) so adding features, fixing bugs and making things happen takes minutes (for fixes) and hours-days (for features depending on complexity).

Im in the process of scouting 2-3 more developers for the team, under a vesting contract. Looking for:
1) iOS & Android
2) Full stack web
3) Blockchain
Same goes with a marketing professional.
Weve already filled the Creative Director, Lead Design, PR, Publishing, Legal, and Crypto Advisor roles. These are all team members and share holders, not just employees. Get in touch if youre interested in the above or have anything to pitch, were open minded and see in colour!
